PETALING JAYA: A one-year-old girl died allegedly after she was left inside a car for more than five hours in Saleng, Kulai.
Kulai District Police Chief Supt Razak Md Said said the toddler’s father lodged a police report at 4.15pm today.
Star Online reported that the man’s wife had placed their child in the back seat of the car for him to send to a babysitter at 9.30am.
The man drove from their house in Bandar Putra to his workplace in Saleng town without realising his daughter was in the back seat.
He only realised the baby was in the car when the babysitter called him around 3pm to ask why they did not send their child to her house.
The father then found his daughter in a weakened condition and took her to the Kulai Hospital but it was too late.
Razak said the case had been classified as child neglect under Section 31(a) of the Child Act 2001.
